War in Palestine: Beginning Until Today
Conflict in Palestine traces back to the early 20th century untill today.

1917 – The Balfour Declaration
During World War I, Britain issued the Balfour Declaration, promising support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. At that time, Palestine was overwhelmingly Arab and Muslim, with thriving Christian and Jewish communities living side by side. This declaration sowed the seeds of conflict, as it ignored the rights of the indigenous Palestinian population.
1948 – The Nakba (Catastrophe)
In 1948, the State of Israel was declared. For Palestinians, this marked the Nakba, when over 700,000 Palestinians were expelled or fled from their homes, and more than 500 villages were destroyed. The tragedy created a massive refugee crisis that continues to this day.
1967 – The Six-Day War and Occupation
In the Six-Day War of 1967, Israel occupied the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem — lands that remain at the heart of the conflict. This occupation brought military rule, checkpoints, settlements, and the daily struggles Palestinians still face.
1987–2000s – Intifadas and Resistance
Palestinians rose up in two major uprisings (Intifadas) against occupation: the first in 1987, the second in 2000. These were driven by years of oppression, settlement expansion, and lack of basic rights. Violence, sanctions, and restrictions deepened the humanitarian crisis.

2007 – The Gaza Blockade
After internal political divisions, Gaza came under siege in 2007. Israel imposed a blockade restricting food, medicine, fuel, and aid, making life unbearable for nearly two million Palestinians. Since then, Gaza has endured repeated wars, airstrikes, and destruction.
2008–Today – Recurring Wars and Humanitarian Crisis
From 2008 onward, Gaza has suffered multiple wars — 2008–09, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current devastating conflict. Thousands of civilians, including women and children, have lost their lives. Entire neighborhoods have been destroyed, hospitals overwhelmed, and families left without food, water, or shelter.
Today – A Struggle for Survival and Justice
Now, Palestine faces one of its darkest times. In Gaza, hunger, thirst, and displacement define daily life. Orphans and families wait desperately for aid, while the call for justice, freedom, and peace grows louder across the world. Despite the suffering, Palestinians remain resilient, holding onto hope for a future free from occupation and war.
